“Pieces of the Invertebrates series are tiny monuments of our shames. These monuments feed off the human particles of vast societies. Invertebrates are the characters of our disturbing aspects. These characters are fed by tyranny, massacres, abuses, class distinctions, arrogance and greed. In short, these little monuments seek not to honor our honesty, but the darkness of our hearts.
Societies in pursuit of a universal beauty have consumed the beauty they owned, and have left a beautiful ruin behind them. This ruin is the summary of humanity. “The Beauties of Civilization”, on the other hand, is an effort to unite the destroyed with the destroyer, the beautiful with the ugly in a single frame.”
The “Woman Figurines” from the series “The Beauties of Civilization Fought for Beauties” in 2018, re-examines the image of women that began to form in the Paleolithic Age. In the above text, the artist explains the formation of the series by sharing a piece from the series main text. The formation of this selection, which are sculptures created in an ostentatious and sloppy painted style in a primitive and rough way, is to criticize how today’s society reconsiders the image of women. Goddess figurines, which represent the fertility of a period as well as birth, tell how they are depreciated by their own children today. The dung worms, fruit and meat worms, represent these children who are trying to destroy the representations of their mother from ancient times to the present.
The artist asks if the Venus’, who are exposed to the bullying of their cheeky and spoiled children, are exposed to the arrogant, selfish and self-interested attitudes of today's people, and whether their own upbringings plays a role in this attitude of the society, as well as being a “mother”.
